The Global Supply Chain

This course is aimed at RP’s, RPI’s and other pharmacy professionals who want to understand the mechanics of the supply chain. We often hear the term ‘global supply chain’, not just for pharma but for all products. If we look at the UK as an example, in 2022, the UK’s export of goods and services totalled £838 billion, and imports totalled £906 billion. The EU accounted for 41% of UK exports of goods and services and 47% of imports. The UK generally imports more than it exports which means that it runs a trade deficit. Global Supply Chains can be simple or complex, and an understanding of the supply chain (especially YOUR supply chain) is vital for patient safety, risk mitigation and ensuring you comply with laws and regulations related to the distribution of medicinal products.
